Are you happy? Yes, bad things happen all of the time, but allowing yourself to be brought down by that negativity is not healthy for your happiness. You see, happiness is a state that we should all strive to be in regardless of the outside sources that affect us all. When you come into contact with other people, your state of being has the potential to rub off on others. In other words, if you are having a bad day and project that negativity onto someone else, there is the potential for you to turn that person’s day into a negative one. While many of us are able to recognize when someone is not happy by their actions including their speech, there are others that are not aware that they could be impacting someone in a negative way or allowing themselves to become impacted by those same forces.

How to break the chain? Positivity! Really, it’s that simple. When you recognize that someone is in a bad mood, make it your priority to help them to change that mood. You can do that by complimenting something they’re wearing. Interrupt their thought process by making them think of something other than what is bothering them at the moment. By thinking about positive images, they will disarm their unhappiness towards you. If you’re really good at this, you can potentially turn their unhappiness away from all the people that they will come into contact with. Not all unhappiness is easily removed but by redirecting the focus onto something complimenting, you can seriously help them to have a much better day.

It’s not their fault that you are unhappy and only you can control your state of mind. Strive to make it positive every day!
